Questions: MSDE 2000

Currently using MSDE 7 with SQL Enterprise Manager. Our company is
contemplating upgrading to MSDE 2000.
1. Do I have to download a new SQL Enterprise Manager to work with MSDE
2000?
2. Can SQL Enterprise Manager access BOTH MSDE 7 AND MSDE 2000 databases?
Thanks.Hi,
SQL7 enterprise manager cannot connect to a SQL2000 database. You need to
upgrade.

As I remember I didn't have to purchase SQL 7 Enterprise Manager. It came
with Visual Studio or something. Do you have a link where I can download
both MSDE2000 and the newest Enterprise Manager to use with it?

You can't download Enterprise Manager, unless you want the evaluation
version with a timebomb (which, by licensing, would, I think, be illegal to
use for managing MSDE, unless you are truly evaluating it...).
Some other options: http://www.aspfaq.com/2442|||> Part of the "deal" with the MSDE is that it's choked down to only 5

That's not true. There is a query governor that kicks in after there are
already 5 *concurrent workloads*... much different from *connections*

Not true either (32,767, IIRC).
For a more concise list of MSDE limitations/features, see

use the tools (ie Enterprise Manager, etc...) on MSDE databases that I
distributed to my customers?
